We Do Not Store Your Data

ThumbnailGrabber is designed with privacy in mind. We do not store the URLs you paste, the images or files you upload, your download history, or any other content you provide. Processed files (e.g. converted HEIC images or generated PDFs) are held only temporarily and are removed automatically shortly after you download them or when the session expires. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

1. What We Do Not Collect or Store

To provide our services we need to process your input (e.g. video URLs or uploaded HEIC files). We do not retain this data after processing:

  • Video or profile URLs — Pasted links are used only to fetch the requested thumbnail or media and are not stored in our databases or logs.
  • Uploaded images and files — Files you upload (e.g. HEIC) are processed on our servers and deleted immediately after conversion or within a short retention window (e.g. one hour) so you can download the result. They are not archived or used for any other purpose.
  • Download history — We do not keep a record of what you downloaded or when.

2. Temporary Processing and Automatic Removal

For tools that require server-side processing (such as HEIC to JPG, PNG, WebP, or PDF):

  • Uploaded and converted files are stored only in a temporary directory with strict access controls.
  • Files are automatically removed after you download them or after a short expiry period (e.g. one hour) if not downloaded.
  • No copies are kept for backup, analytics, or any other use.

3. Technical and Usage Information

We may receive technical data that is inherent to web requests, such as:

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and similar technical identifiers (e.g. for security, abuse prevention, or basic analytics if used).
  • Our hosting or security providers (e.g. Cloudflare) may process such data according to their own policies; we do not use it to identify or profile you personally beyond what is necessary to operate the service.

If we use analytics (e.g. Google Analytics), they may use cookies or similar technologies; we do not link analytics data to the URLs, files, or content you submit.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We may use minimal, essential technologies to make the site work correctly:

  • Theme preference — Your choice of light or dark mode may be stored in your browser (local storage) so it persists across visits. This stays on your device only.
  • Security — Temporary tokens (e.g. for form security or bot protection such as Cloudflare Turnstile) may be used during a single session and are not used to track you over time.

5. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services for hosting, security (e.g. Cloudflare), or analytics. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We do not pass them the actual content you submit (URLs or file contents) beyond what is technically required (e.g. to serve the page or validate a request). For details, refer to the respective provider’s privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We do not retain your content (URLs, uploads, or download history). Any temporary files created during processing are removed automatically as described in Section 2. Where we have no reason to keep technical or usage data (e.g. logs), we do not retain it longer than necessary for security or legal compliance.

7. Your Rights

Because we do not store your content or build profiles from it, there is no “account” or stored dataset to access or delete for your usage. You may:

  • Use the service without creating an account; we do not require sign-up.
  • Control cookies and local storage via your browser settings.
  • Contact us (see Section 10) with questions or requests regarding this policy or any data you believe we might hold.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our service is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not store user content or build profiles, our exposure of children’s data is minimal; if you believe a child has provided data through our site, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
