What gets removed

Phone photos often store the camera model, the time, and GPS coordinates inside the file. That data can show where a picture was taken when you share it.

This page lists those fields for JPEG files. The download is a new copy of the same width and height with camera data, GPS, and color profiles removed. PNG and WebP rarely carry the same camera block; you can still download a re-saved copy.

The location is shown on this page only. It is not saved with the cleaned file.

Need to add a title, copyright, or location instead? Use the image metadata editor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the cleaned file look the same?
The pixel size stays the same. JPEG is saved again at high quality, so the picture can change by a very small amount.
Why do I see no camera details?
PNG and WebP usually do not store this camera block. A JPEG can also be saved with metadata already removed.
Is the GPS stored on the server?
No. It is only shown in your result on this page. The downloaded file does not contain it.
